Step 1
Purchase all the necessary equipment to create a local network. As a rule, you need to connect computers using a special cable that is designed for a local area network. To connect, you can contact the service center to specialists or do it yourself. On your computer, the Help and Support section details how to install the hardware.
Step 2
After connecting the computers to the network, set up a wired or wireless Internet connection. Connect computers to the network and run the router setup wizard (this applies to wireless). Set the appropriate LAN connection settings on each computer.

When you connect computers and make the necessary settings, you can display the computers in the workgroup on all PCs connected to the network. To do this, click on the "Start" menu. Select the "Network" section in the right list of commands and files. You can also click on the shortcut "My Computer" and on the left side select the tab called "Control Panel". Next, find a shortcut called "My Network Places". This category contains all connections that are available on the computer.
Step 4
In the window that opens, in the list of commands on the left, there will be the following command: "Display computers in the workgroup." Click on it with the left mouse button. All computers connected to the local network will become visible in the window field. You just have to choose the one with the files you want to work with. Click on the icon for this computer. But before you start, set the files to share. Otherwise, you will not be able to work with folders and files on another computer.
