For system administrators, the biggest problem begins when reinstalling the operating system or when replacing an old server with a new one. It's not difficult to reinstall the operating system, but to configure it, and even so that it works for several years without problems, is no longer possible for everyone. Most of the difficulties arise when configuring Active Directory in conjunction with configuring DNS.
Instructions
Step 1
You have installed the operating system, configured DNS and Active Directory. Now the question arises - did you do it all correctly? We need to check the entire configuration of our domain To do this, after installing and configuring Active Directory, go to the "Administration" menu, in the window that opens, you will see that many new icons have appeared there. For you at the moment, the most important snap-in will be the "Active Directory Users and Computers" snap-in. Open it and check your domain name. At this point, the most important thing for you is the correctness of the given name, i.e. correct domain name.
Step 2
Next, you need to double-click on the name of your domain (you can click on the + sign) to open the domain container. In the window that appears, select the "Domain Controllers" item. Also check that the domain name is correct.
Step 3
Place the mouse cursor on the name of your domain controller, which is located in the right window and select Properties from the context menu (it will appear after clicking the right mouse button). You can also double-click the left mouse button.
Step 4
A window with various tabs should open. Check all the data in different tabs.
