Step 1
Download new drivers for your sound card. Even if the driver that came with the operating system works normally, formatting or other system settings may affect this software. Search the Internet for drivers for your device. Download and install them according to the instructions. The system will automatically replace the old sound card driver with the new one.

Purchase and install a new sound card. Connect higher quality speakers to the audio output. Most modern computers have digital audio outputs and can work with 2.1 systems (two speakers and a subwoofer), and some support 5.1 (five speakers and a subwoofer - typical Surround sound). Using higher quality speakers will result in a cleaner, richer sound.
