IP is the Internet address of the computer's network card. Each Internet provider, providing services to one or another user, assigns a specific IP to the network card of his computer, which will be assigned only to this user and registered in the provider's database. There are several ways to find an IP address.
Instructions
Step 1
Use one of the Internet sites that can help determine the IP of your computer. When you visit one of these sites, your IP address will immediately appear on the screen. Some sites have a slightly different procedure for determining the IP. You will be asked to follow a link. After that, you will be shown your IP address.
Step 2
To find sites that provide such services, use any search engine convenient for you. Enter the following query in the line: How to find the IP of the computer? Then, from the many results, select one site and find out all the information you are interested in.
Step 3
Go to the properties of the network connection to find out the IP of the computer. Go to the "Start" button menu, select "Control Panel". A window will appear on the screen. Find an icon with the name "Network Connections" in it. A list will open. Select the connection of interest and right-click on it. A context menu will appear.
Step 4
Select "Properties" in it. A window will appear in which you can see your current IP address, as well as other information regarding your Internet connection. You can also right-click on the connection icon on the taskbar. Select Properties from the context menu. A window will appear in which all the information regarding the current connection will be displayed.
Step 5
Use the standard operating system service to detect the IP protocol. To run it, go to the Start button menu, select Run. Type ipconfig into the command line, and then press the Enter key. If the connection is correct, the Default gateway and IP address must match. To check if the IP is correct, go to the Start button menu, select Run, enter route print in the command line. A window will appear showing the current IP address.
