Instructions

Step 1

Download and install VideoPad on your computer, the basic version of which is free. After the installation is complete, run the program.

Step 2

Click the Add Media button in the upper left corner of the screen. Double click on the video file you would like to import. Repeat this process for other video and audio files.

Step 3

Drag each video file that will be part of your finished project to the Sequence section in the lower right corner of the screen. Do the same with the audio file. The start of the soundtrack will automatically line up with the start of the video.

Step 4

Click the Preview button to see and hear the results of the program. This will help you understand what changes need to be made. Close the preview window when finished.

Step 5

Use the sliders in the lower left corner of the screen to decrease or increase the volume of the added video files, as well as the soundtrack. You can mix the two audio tracks together or just mute the added video. To mute the sound, click the speaker-shaped button next to the Audio Track slider.

Step 6

Click the star-shaped icon next to the Soundtrack 1 slider to add special effects such as distortion or echo to the soundtrack. Click the Add button to select an effect. Set the parameters for this effect, and then click OK to apply it to the audio track.

Step 7

Click the Create Movie option. Next, select Windows PC at the top of the screen. Enter a name for the file and then click the Browse button to select the location where it should be saved. Click OK to save the video. This may take some time, depending on the length of the video and the power of the computer.
