You open your browser, and there are advertising banners, pop-up windows and various nasty things - your computer is infected with a virus. But do not rush to wring your hands and pull out your hair. In most cases, you can cope with such a problem on your own, without resorting to the help of a master.
Necessary
- - access to the Internet
- - flash drive
Instructions
Step 1
Download Dr. Web CureIt software! and Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool. It's better to do this on some other computer (not infected), and then copy these programs to a USB flash drive.
Step 2
Insert the USB stick into the USB port of your "sick" computer.
Step 3
Do not copy programs from a USB flash drive to your computer - this is unnecessary. You just need to double-click on their icons with the right mouse button to get started.
Step 4
First, scan with Dr. Web CureIt !. This program will detect most viruses that are not deep in the system. Then you can delete them. After uninstalling, restart your computer.
Step 5
If advertising banners and others have disappeared from the browser, then the work can be considered finished. But there are viruses such as delta search (a search engine that gives out dubious sites in the results), which sit very deep in your computer system. The second program, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, will help you find and destroy them.
Step 6
Launch Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool and wait. It will scan the system for a long time. It may take about an hour. But then you can remove all malicious software. A computer restart is required.
Step 7
Now you need to clear the cache of all browsers on your computer.
For Google Chrome:
Ctrl + Shift + Del -> Clear Cache -> Clear History
Ctrl + Shift + Del (Mac: ⌘-Shift-Backspace) → Clear browsing data
For Internet Explorer:
Ctrl + Shift + Del -> Temporary Internet Files -> Delete
Ctrl + Shift + Del → Temporary Internet files → Delete
For Mozilla Firefox:
Ctrl + Shift + Del -> Cache -> Clear Now
Ctrl + Shift + Del → Cache → Clear now
For Safari:
Ctrl + Alt + E -> Clear
Ctrl + Alt + E → Empty cache (Mac: ⌘ → Privacy → Remove All Website Data)
For Opera:
Ctrl + F12 -> Advanced -> History -> Disk Cache -> Clear
Ctrl + F12 → Advanced → History → Disk cache → Empty Now
