To access any page on the Internet, we use its URL. The exact address of the site is also used by web servers, sending a request to one of its pages, but they use a different type of addressing - IP. Information about such addresses and their owners is stored on specialized servers and obtained by request using a special protocol - Whois. Among other query results, there is information about the owner.

Instructions

Step 1

Use any Internet service that provides free information services about everything related to domains and IP addresses in the databases of registrar organizations. It is easy to find them, since the task of implementing Whois requests using web scripts is very simple. Of course, there are such services on the websites of the registrar companies themselves. Use, for example, the whois service of one of the largest Russian registrars Reg.ru.

Step 2

Go to the whois service page of the company's website - reg.ru/whois. In the field under the inscription "Enter the host domain name or IP address", enter the IP address you are interested in and send a request to the server - click on the green "Check" button or simply press Enter.

Step 3

When the page with information from the registrar's database is loaded, find the line person - it contains the name and surname of the owner of the IP address in English, or rather the domain name to which this IP is allocated. In the following lines, you can find information about the owner's address - two lines address - and his phone - the line phone.

Step 4

If the owner does not want his personal data to be available through a whois request, you will not find it there - most registrars offer their clients a "spam protection" service. In this case, use the email address of the owner or the registrar company specified in this information - write a letter asking for the name of the owner and explain the reason for your interest.

Step 5

If you know the IP address of a site visitor and you want to find out his name, from the results of a whois query, determine the Internet provider that uses the block of addresses, including this one. Then apply with a request by e-mail, through the website or phone of the provider - there are no other legal ways to solve this problem.
