From time to time, new firmware versions are released for Optiarc drives, which correct the shortcomings of the previous ones. So it is advisable to reflash your drive from time to time.

Step 1
First thing you need to do is download the correct firmware. This can be done from the drive manufacturer's website. Also, firmware can be found on third-party Internet resources, but it is not recommended to download them from there. You need to download the firmware specifically for your Optiarc drive model, otherwise it will simply not be installed.
Step 2
Close all windows and programs before starting the firmware. Also take into account the fact that very often after the completion of the firmware, the computer restarts automatically without any prompts or notifications.
Step 3
For most drives, the firmware is just one file, which is downloaded from the archive. After downloading, unzip the file to any folder convenient for you. Now just open the unzipped file. The process of flashing the drive will begin. Basically, the drive firmware is fully automated, you don't have to select anything. Its duration depends on the drive model, but is usually about ten seconds. After the process is complete, the computer will restart. After that, the drive will already be running the new firmware version. If your computer does not restart automatically, restart it yourself.
Step 4
If an error occurs during the process of flashing the drive, or the computer restarts even before the process is complete, then most likely you downloaded the firmware version not for your drive model. Also, if for some reason the program fails to flash the drive, the old firmware version will be automatically returned.
