Wallpaper is a background image that is located under files and folders on your desktop. The user can find suitable wallpapers on the Internet at any time or make them on his own. However, in some cases, the size of the wallpaper may not be displayed correctly on the monitor screen.

Instructions

Step 1

In most cases, the incorrect display of the wallpaper is due to the fact that the size of the wallpaper does not fit the user-selected screen resolution of his monitor. There are several ways to fix the situation: either change the resolution settings, or reduce the wallpaper.

Step 2

The first option is not suitable for everyone, since changing the screen resolution can lead to the fact that the entire appearance of desktop elements will change (icons and signatures to them will become larger or smaller). The second option involves the use of a graphical editor.

Step 3

To shrink your wallpaper, first figure out what the new size should be. To do this, right-click on any free space on the desktop and select Properties from the context menu. A new "Display Properties" dialog box will open. It can also be called through the "Control Panel" (category "Appearance and Themes", section "Display").

Step 4

In the window that opens, go to the "Options" tab and in the "Screen Resolution" group, look at what mark the "slider" is at. For example, your resolution is 1440 x 900 pixels, remember or write down this value. Launch a graphics editor (Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, etc.) and create a new document with the same parameters in pixels.

Step 5

Open the wallpaper file, select the image and copy it to the clipboard. Go to the newly created new document and paste the image from the clipboard into it. Select the inserted fragment and scale it to fit the screen resolution (1440x900).

Step 6

To do this, move the cursor to one of the corners of the selected fragment and, while holding down the left mouse button, move it diagonally until you achieve a satisfactory result. To maintain the proportions, use the Shift key when resizing.

Step 7

If the screen resolution is proportional to the size of the new wallpaper, use the "Resize Image" function in the graphics editor's menu (but, as a rule, in such cases the wallpaper is displayed correctly without it). Save the new image and set it as your wallpaper in the usual way (Display component, Desktop tab, Browse button).
