Headphones and microphone, Audacity program, Lame library

Instructions

Step 1

Now we can record our voice on such a versatile and easy-to-use Audacity program. It is publicly available on the Internet. You can easily download it and proceed with the next steps. A few minutes separate you from a high-quality recording of your voice and listening to it. First, you should download this program in any search engine. It costs absolutely nothing. The only thing that you will need to consider is that you cannot import your voice into MP3 format without a special program - the Lame library. You will also need to find it either in a paid or in a free version. Later, you will need to export it to the Audacity program folder.

Step 2

Install the program on your computer, the shortcut is on your desktop. After starting the program, you will be presented with a menu. The main buttons for its control are on the top "Play", "Record", "Stop" and "Pause". We will use them to record sound.

Step 3

Connect headphones with a headset, if you have one. You cannot record sound without a microphone.

Step 4

After that, press the second Record button (red round) and start speaking into the microphone. Make sure you have configured the correct mode. Sometimes, headphones connected to the front of the system unit do not transmit voice. Try to connect them from the back. Also check the headphone input in the "setup" menu so that when you press it, you can hear your own voice and not the interference.

Step 5

After you have said what you need, press the "Stop" button (if you want to end the recording) or "Pause" (if you want to pause and finish later). Press the "Play" button and listen to what you have said. If everything suits you, then click in the upper section "File" to export to MP3. Or any other suggested format. If you do not like something in the recording, you can edit it, namely - copy, cut, remove interference (noise, crackling), etc. You can do this by clicking on the corresponding icons located just above the audio track you recorded.

Step 6

Listen to the resulting file in any multimedia player. Highlight weaknesses, take them into account in the future and record your voice track again. Audacity is at your complete disposal.
