No matter what application from the Microsoft Office package you work, be it Word, Excel or PowerPoint, you probably perform some routine operations. Moreover, you perform them several times a day. You can, of course, use the "Edit command", however, if you need to repeat three or more actions, then using this command becomes problematic. A macro will help you.
Instructions
Step 1
With VBA, you can make a macro that consists of a list of several actions that you need to remember in order to perform them again in the same sequence. In order to record a macro, a number of steps are required.
Step 2
First, open and prepare the application in which you want to record the macro. Then go to the menu by the chain Service -> Macro -> Start recording. Next, the "Record Macro" dialog box will be displayed on the screen.
Step 3
By default, the Macro Name field suggests the standard name Macro1 or something like that. You can replace it with any you like.
Step 4
In Microsoft Office, as well as in Excel, you can assign a specific keyboard shortcut to a macro. In Word, click on the toolbar button to link the macro to the tool button. You can also click on the key button in order to assign a key combination to call the macro. In Excel, in the text box titled "Keyboard shortcut Ctrl +" you need to enter a letter.
Step 5
In applications such as Excel, Word, or PowerPoint, you have the option to use the Save In drop-down list to specify where your macro will be saved. Enter a description for the macro in the Description field. Then click on the Ok button. As a result, you will return back to the document, and in the status line you will see the inscription "Recording" (REC) and a small toolbar "Stop Recording" will be displayed, which appears approximately in the center of the screen. Its title line displays only one inscription - Os.
Step 6
After that, complete all the actions that need to be recorded in the macro. Since the recorder will record all of your actions (with the exception of clicks on the Stop Recording panel buttons), be careful not to perform unnecessary actions or commands while recording a macro. After recording all actions, go to the menu by the chain Tools -> Macro -> Stop recording, located on the toolbar of the same name.
