The Microsoft Excel Developer tab is used to work with macros, use controls, and work with XML. When using versions of Microsoft Excel that were released later than 2007, many users have problems finding the Developer tab.
In versions of Microsoft Excel earlier than 2003, the "Developer" tab is displayed in the main menu of the screen. In more recent versions, the menu has been replaced with a ribbon command, with which the Developer tab is hidden from the Microsoft Excel window by default.
To activate the "Developer" tab in Excel 2007, go to Settings and select "Excel Options". By default, the "General" tab opens, where you need to put a checkmark in front of the third item "Show the" Developer "tab on the ribbon".
In more recent versions of Microsoft Excel, go to the first tab of the File ribbon and select Options. In the left part of the window that appears, select "Customize the Ribbon" and in the right column put a checkmark in front of the "Developer" item.
When you click OK, the dialog box closes, and the Developer tab appears in the ribbon between View and Help.
This tab consists of four groups of commands: Code, Add-ins, Controls, and XML. Typically, the "Developer" is activated to work with macros and setting control buttons in the document.
To hide the "Developer" tab, it is enough to carry out the reverse order of actions, ie. uncheck the box next to the selected item.
