Some of the most popular anti-spyware and anti-Trojan programs - Kaspersky Anti-Virus (KAV) and Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) - can work fully only with a license key. To install a new key, you must first delete the old one.

Step 1
Updating databases containing information about viruses and vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows and individual software is also possible only with an installed key. Keys blacklisted by Kaspersky and expired keys must be removed and replaced with new ones.
Step 2
Removing the Kaspersky Anti-Virus key can be done in the following way - through the application shell. This option is relevant for license keys that were purchased together with the official anti-virus program disk. Hover the mouse cursor over the icon of the running antivirus utility in the clock tray and double-click on the icon with the left mouse button. In the program window that appears on the screen, find the "License" link and click on it. In a new window that opens, you will see options, one of which removes an invalid or expired key, and the other installs a new one.
Step 3
If you download keys from the Internet, use the same key again or with a trial key, you must delete the key from Kaspersky Anti-Virus in a different way. The utility records all changes in the operating system registry. Therefore, when you try to use a key again or a key blacklisted by the company, the program will report an error referring to the registry entry made earlier.
Step 4
In this case, you must first delete all antivirus entries from the registry. This can be done by Kaspersky Cleaner or any other utility capable of removing trial and used keys from the Windows registry. It is not difficult to download such programs from the Internet - it is enough to find them through any search engine, for example, Google or Yandex.
Step 5
After installing Kaspersky Cleaner or another similar program, open the main window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and select the "Settings" menu item. In the "Options" section, uncheck and disable the anti-virus self-defense, then confirm the change in the security settings with the OK button and disable the antivirus. After that, use the program to remove keys from the registry. Restart your computer so that after restarting the antivirus will reinstall the new key.
