The higher the resolution, the higher the quality of the photo. But you need to change it skillfully, in which the master of working with images - "Photoshop" will be of great help.

Step 1
Low image resolution always affects the quality of the photo, especially when resizing up to a larger size. But if you tinker with the pixels a little, you can get a pretty good photo.

Launch Photoshop on your computer. This can be done by clicking on the shortcut, if available on the desktop, or through the "Start" menu, select "All Programs" and find the one you need.

When the program opens, add the image you need for processing. To do this, click on "File" in the menu bar and go to the "Open As" option or use the "hot" keys Alt + Shift + Ctrl + O. Then select a location for the image and click Open.

After the photo appears in the working window, find the "Image" item on the menu bar. Click on it and go to the "Image Size" option. Pressing the Alt + Ctrl + I buttons at the same time will help you get to this section a little faster.

Then, in the table that opens, enter the required image dimensions, specifying its width and height, in pixels or percent. These lines represent the actual scale of the drawing. And the lower columns reflect the size of the print and the resolution of the photo. Here you can enter the value you want. Just keep in mind that when you change some parameters, others will change accordingly. At least this will definitely affect the size of the photo.

If necessary, check the boxes "Scale Style", "Maintain Proportions" and "Intepolation". Select one of the interpolation options. Bicubic is great for smooth gradients, Neighboring Pixels keeps sharp edges, Bicubic labeled "Smoother" is best for enlarging a photo, labeled "Sharper" is ideal for shrinking.
Step 7
You can also use the function of automatic selection of image resolution. Specify the new size of the photo, its quality (draft, good or best), and the program will independently select the best option for the specified parameters.
Step 8
You can save the changes made to the photo by going from the File menu to the Save As section or by pressing Shift + Ctrl + S. Then specify the file format and name and click "Save".
Step 9
You can also save changes to the original image. In this case, use the "Save" function or the Alt + Ctrl + C buttons.
