Instructions

Step 1

Click on "Start". Then right-click on "Computer". In the context menu that appears, click on "Properties" to call the settings for work within one workgroup to organize a single local network. In the "Computer name, domain and group settings" section, click "Change".

Step 2

In the window that appears, go to the "Computer name" tab. In the field of the same name, specify the name for your computer in Latin letters, and then click on the "Advanced" button. In the "Member" field, select the "Workgroup" item and enter any arbitrary name for the network you are creating. Click "OK" and then "OK" again to apply the changes.

Step 3

To configure network parameters, go to the "Network and Sharing Center" by clicking on the icon of your connection and selecting the appropriate link in the menu that appears. In the new window, click "Change adapter settings" on the left side of the screen.

Step 4

In the window, right-click on the "Local Area Connection" item. Go to "Properties" - "Internet Protocol TCP / IP" and then click "Properties" again.

Step 5

Set the values "Obtain IP automatically" and "Obtain DNS servers automatically" by checking the boxes opposite the corresponding sections. When you select these items, the connected computers automatically receive IP, subnet mask, gateway and DNS from the router, and therefore these data must also be set in the router settings to create a working connection. After that, click on the "Advanced" button, and then go to the WINS tab.

Step 6

In the "NetBIOS Settings" section, select "Enable NetBIOS over TCP / IP". Click "OK" to apply the changes. Configuring the local network for the D-Link DIR-300 router is completed. Restart the computer to apply the changes, and then connect from other computers to the local wireless network.
