Sometimes it is required to create a local network in which one of the computers will act as a server. This is done in order to provide all other devices with access to the Internet.

It is necessary

Network hub, network cables

Instructions

Step 1

Start creating such a network by choosing a server computer. It must be powerful enough to handle the streams of information passing through it to other computers or laptops. Another important requirement is a second network adapter.

Step 2

Connect the Internet cable to the selected computer. Configure Internet access for this device.

Step 3

Purchase a network hub (switch). It is necessary in order to ensure the connection of other computers or laptops with the server computer.

Step 4

Connect the hub to the second network adapter of the computer and the rest of the devices on the future network.

Step 5

Open the internet connection settings on the host computer. Select the "Access" tab. Open the Internet access for a local network built using a network hub. After applying the parameters, the IP address of the second network adapter should be 192.168.0.1.

Step 6

Turn on the rest of the computers on the local network. Open the Network and Sharing Center on one of them. Go to the properties of your local area connection. Go to "Internet Protocol TCP / IP" and open its properties. A window with five main fields will appear on the screen.

Step 7

In the first field, enter 192.168.0.2. Press the Tab key. Make sure the system has automatically generated the subnet mask for this device. Press the Tab key again. Enter the IP address of the first computer in this field. Repeat the last step for the next field. Save the settings.

Step 8

Repeat the previous step for all other computers. In this case, it is necessary to change the last digit of the IP address each time. If you did everything correctly, then all computers will have access to the Internet. Provided, of course, that the first computer is turned on.
