For a high organization in a team, the system administrator must create a network of all computers in the office. Sometimes computers are replaced by laptops. Setting up a local network between laptops is practically the same. A local network allows you to use not only general access to the Internet, it allows you to unite all printers connected to this network.

It is necessary

Several laptops, twisted pair cable, optional NIC, crimping tool

Instructions

Step 1

To create a local network between laptops, it is enough to have two laptops and one computer (main). The Internet will be connected to the computer, the rest of the chain will capture the Internet stream from the main computer. To connect laptops to one network, one network card is not enough, which is in each laptop. Therefore, you also need a computer in which you can install 2 network cards. One will be responsible for receiving traffic from the Internet, while the other will serve as a conduit between the Internet and the public network.

Step 2

You will need a twisted pair cable, if there is no ready-made cable, purchase one. To make it, use a crimping tool that can be purchased at the same place where you bought the cable. After connecting the laptop and computer, right-click on the "My Computer" icon. Go to the Computer Name tab, click the Change button. In the window that opens, check the box next to the item "Working group", enter any name in Latin letters, click the "OK" button.

Step 3

Right-click on the local network icon, select "Properties". In the window that opens, click the "Properties" button. In the new window, select "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)", then click the "Properties" button. In the Use the following IP address field, enter 192/168/001 / xxx. Replace xxx with any number from 1 to 255.

Step 4

The second computer on the network is configured in the same way. All parameters remain unchanged except for the IP address. On the second and subsequent laptops, the address value must be different. For example, the last 3 digits of the address for the main computer are 001, and for a laptop you can put 002, etc.

Step 5

After rebooting two machines, the local network will be active.
