The manufacturer sets system requirements for each program and video game. This is the minimum computer configuration that is required to run a particular program. If your system does not meet the minimum configuration of an IT product, then it simply will not work.

Step 1
First, you need to find out what exactly the requirements for the characteristics of the computer are set by the manufacturer of the program. System requirements are indicated on the back of the package for the disc with the program.
Step 2
If you purchased the electronic version of the program, then you should have looked at the system requirements on the site from which you downloaded the product. But if you have already downloaded it, then in the folder with it there must be a document that describes the program and the minimum system requirements. As a rule, these are four main things: the speed of the processor (for some games you need to have at least a dual-core processor), the amount of RAM, the requirements for the video card (although they are important, mainly for video games) and the operating systems that are supported by this program. If your OS is not among their list, then it is likely that the program may not start. Sometimes it also says how much free hard disk space is needed to install the product.
Step 3
If you took the disc with the program, for example, from friends, but there is no packaging for it, then you can search for the system requirements for the product by opening the disc itself. As a rule, this is a text file, much less often a PDF.
Step 4
Now you need to check the configuration of your computer against the system requirements. To do this, click "Start", then - "All Programs". After that go to "Standard". Select Command Prompt in standard programs. In it, enter the dxdiag command and press the Enter key. Wait a few seconds for the system analysis to complete. This will launch the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. The first window will contain information about your processor, the amount of RAM and the operating system that is installed on your computer. You can find out detailed information about the video card by going to the "Display" section.
