There are many different ways of transferring information between desktop and mobile computers. When it comes to a local office network, it is much easier to configure resource sharing settings once so that users can quickly access the information they need.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on one of the computers included in the local network. Open Control Panel and navigate to the System and Security submenu. Click on the link "Windows Firewall" and activate this service. To do this, simply click the Use Recommended Settings button.
Step 2
Create a public directory on this computer. Open the My Computer menu. Navigate to the contents of local disk D. Right-click in the free area of the window and move the cursor over the "Create" field. In the window that opens, select the "Folder" item.
Step 3
Enter the name of the new directory and press Enter. Open the properties of the folder you just created. Now select the Access tab and click the Advanced Setup button.
Step 4
Check the box next to Share this folder. Go to the "Permissions" menu by clicking the button of the same name. Select the "All" category with the left mouse button and activate the "Full Control" option for the "Allow" category.
Step 5
Click the Apply button several times to save the settings for the public directory. Now open the list of active network connections.
Step 6
Right click on the local network icon. Select "Status". In the menu that appears, click the "Details" button. Look for the IPv4 Address field and note the value for the IP address of this computer.
Step 7
Turn on another networked computer. After loading the operating system press the key combination Win + R. Enter the string / 192.168.0.100 in the new field. The numbers represent the value of the IP address of the first PC.
Step 8
Wait for the list of public directories of the selected computer to open. Open the newly configured folder and copy the files you want to it. If you want to transfer information from the first PC to the second, move the files to a public directory. Reconnect to the first computer and download the required files.
