The key to enter the BIOS menu must be pressed immediately after turning on the laptop, as soon as the initial screen appears. This is about two, three seconds until the operating system starts to load. If you do not meet this time, you will have to restart the computer.

For many Acer laptop models, the Esc key is used to enter the BIOS, a little less often - Del. There are also situations when you need to press several keys at the same time. The combination Ctrl + Alt + Esc is often encountered, on older models you can try using Ctrl + Alt + S. If you take a series of F-keys, then the most often used are F1 or F2.

If these key combinations did not help you, then try to carefully review the manual for the laptop. It should contain a list of keys to enter different modes of laptop settings. If you do not have instructions, you can go to the website of the manufacturer of the portable device and download it from there, or view it directly on the website.

If, nevertheless, you could not find the correct key combination, then you can do it differently. Go to BIOS directly from your desktop. There are many different utilities for this. Moreover, you can not only enter, but also change the necessary settings, and they will be saved.

Download a small utility from the Internet called Phoenix, which is completely free. Unpack the archive to any folder. After that, you will have several files, including help information about the utility's capabilities. There is no need to install the program.

Find SETUP. COM in the list of unzipped files. Right-click on it and select "Open" in the context menu. After that, you will have access to the BIOS menu settings. Working in the utility window is no different from working in the BIOS itself. Remember to save your settings after selecting all the options.
