Some commands on the computer are launched by simultaneously pressing several keys on the keyboard. It is sometimes difficult for novice users or people with disabilities to master the simultaneous pressing of keys, so the developers have provided the option for Sticky Keys. There are a number of steps you need to take to turn sticky keys on or off.
Instructions
Step 1
Sticky Keys option is not provided for all keys on the keyboard, but only for control keys. These include Ctrl, Alt, Shift, and the Windows key (with a flag). When this option is enabled, the control key remains active after pressing until the next key is pressed and the required command is called.
Step 2
When working with Sticky Keys on, press the Shift key five times to deactivate this option. If you need to completely disable this option, use the capabilities of the system.
Step 3
From the Start menu, open the Control Panel. If you do not see the Start button, then you have hidden the Taskbar. Press the Windows key on your keyboard, or move your mouse cursor to the bottom edge of the screen and wait for the panel to pop up.
Step 4
On the Control Panel, select the Accessibility icon (it doesn't matter if your panel is displayed in Classic View or by Category). A new dialog box will open. On the Keyboard tab, in the Sticky Keys group, remove the marker from the box next to Sticky.
Step 5
Click on the "Apply" button for the new settings to take effect and close the "Accessibility" window. To do this, click the OK button or the X icon in the upper right corner of the window.
Step 6
The sticky option is provided not only for the keyboard, but also for the mouse button. To disable sticky mouse buttons, open Control Panel from the Start menu. In the Printers and Other Hardware category, click on the Mouse icon to open a new Mouse Properties dialog box.
Step 7
In the window that opens, go to the "Mouse Buttons" tab and remove the marker in the "Sticky Mouse Button" group from the field opposite the inscription "Enable Sticky". Apply the new settings and close the window in the usual way.
