Changing the security settings for a GPO is a private use of the configuration options and is performed in the Local Group Policy Editor snap-in, which has very wide functionality and is one of the most important administrative tools in the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to open the main menu of the system and go to the "Settings" item to perform the operation of changing the security settings for the GPO of the local computer.
Step 2
Select the "Control Panel" item and open the "Administrative Tools" link by double-clicking the mouse.
Step 3
Open the "Local Security Policy" section by double-clicking and select the "Security Settings" node in the console tree.
Step 4
Specify Account Policies to modify the Account Lockout Policy or Password Policy component, or select the Local Policies section to edit the User Rights Assignment, Security Settings, or Audit Policy components.
Step 5
Double-click the required security parameter and enter the required value.
Step 6
Click OK to apply the selected changes and return to the main Start menu to change the security settings for the GPO from a workstation or server.
Step 7
Go to Run and enter mmc in the Open field to launch an empty MMC console.
Step 8
Specify the item "add or remove snap-in" in the "Console" menu of the top toolbar of the application window and click the "Add" button.

Expand the Group Policy Object Editor link in the Add Sandboxed Policy dialog box that opens.

Click the Browse button in the new Select Group Policy Objects dialog box and select the object to replace.

Click the Finish button to confirm your choice, click the Close button to close the Group Policy Editor utility and confirm the application of the selected changes by clicking the OK button.
Step 12
Select the Security Settings node in the console tree and select Account Policies to modify the Account Lockout Policy, Password Policy, or Kerberos Policy component.
Step 13
Select the Local Policies section to edit the User Rights Assignment, Security Settings, or Audit Policy components, or use the Event Log item to change the log settings.

Expand the security parameter to be changed by double-clicking and enter the required value.
Step 15
Click OK to apply the selected changes.
