Creating an image from a folder or files allows you to write information to disk without loss. In addition, this procedure allows you to modify the content of existing images by adding new data to them.

Instructions
Step 1
To create an image from files on your hard drive, use the Alcohol 120% program. Download the free version of this utility from the official site. Install the program and restart your computer.
Step 2
Launch Alcohol 120%. Open the Virtual Disks menu and enter 1 in the Number of Virtual Drives field. Wait for the new drive to be created. Now go to the Imaging menu and wait for a new window to open.
Step 3
Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl and P. Click the Next button in the new menu. Click the Add button and select the required file. Repeat this procedure if you need to include other files in the image.
Step 4
Check the box next to Skip Reading Errors. Enter a name for the image to be created. Specify the desired item in the "Format" field. It is best to use the ISO and MDF image types. Select a folder to save the resulting file. Click "Next".
Step 5
Check the box next to "Close the window after the end of the operation." Wait while the program performs the required actions.
Step 6
You can also create an image from a set of files using the Nero program. Run this utility. In the top menu, select the DVD mode.
Step 7
Open the DVD-Copy menu. Select the Recording tab and check the box next to Use multiple capture devices.
Step 8
Now click the "Copy" button. Select Image Recorder from the list of suggested devices. Click the Ok button. Add files to the future image. Enter its name and specify the folder where the resulting file will be saved.
Step 9
Click the Copy button and wait while the new disk image is created.
