Saving a data file is the final stage of its creation or modification. One of the aspects of the correct saving of the document is the choice of its format. For example, RTF files are supported by many applications.

The Rich Text Format file format allows not only saving text documents, but also complex elements added to them, for example, pictures, tables, hyperlinks, etc. In this case, RTF files can be transferred from one text editor to another within the same or different operating systems, which does not lead to data loss or offsets on the page.

Create a document in any text editor and click the "Save" button. WordPad editor automatically saves RTF files. In Microsoft Word, select RTF Text in the Save as type box, enter a file name, and click Save.

The RTF file is based on text, so you can create such a document using programming tools. For example, PHP programmers use the PhpRtf Lite library to generate texts in this format, and the RTF:: Writer module was created in Perl for this.

It is possible to save an RTF file by converting it from the equally common pdf format. This can be done using the Adobe Acrobat Professional tool. Open the pdf file, select the "Save As" command from the menu, specify the format of the output file.

Change the export parameters, if necessary, by clicking on the "Parameters" button. For example: save text wrapping, page layout, include comments and images, perform OCR on images, etc. Click "OK" and "Save" in the save window.
