In most cases, you will need to use the Live CD to restore your system. These are discs designed specifically to run recovery functions for a specific OS in the event of a failure.

Step 1
First, create a recovery disc for your operating system. Please note that this process must be performed either on your computer or laptop, or on a device with a similar operating system. Press the "Start" key and go to the "Control Panel" menu.
Step 2
Now open the "Backup and Restore" item located in the "System and Security" menu. We are talking about the Windows Seven operating system. Examine the contents of the window that opens, find the item "Create a system recovery disc" and go to it.
Step 3
Open the drive and insert a blank DVD into it. Close the drive tray and click the Create Disc button. Wait while the process of writing the required files is complete. Please note that additional files cannot be written to this disc.
Step 4
For quick recovery of the operating system, it is recommended to use its image. This file will allow you to restore the operating state of the OS in which it was at the time of the image creation. Repeat the procedure to enter the "Backup and Restore" menu. Select "Create a system image".
Step 5
Wait until the system scans the devices on which it is possible to save the future image. Choose from the suggested options the location for storing the archive. This can be a set of DVDs, a USB stick, or a non-system partition on your hard drive. Click "Next".
Step 6
A new window will display a list of hard disk partitions to be backed up. In this case, these are the system and boot partitions. Click the Archive button to start the imaging process. Wait until the data is backed up and written to the selected medium. If you have selected DVDs, you will need to insert a new blank DVD several times.
Step 7
To start system recovery from Live CD, insert this disc into the drive. Turn on your computer. Press the F8 key and select the DVD drive in the window that opens. In the menu that opens after starting the disk, select the required item, for example, system restore from an image and start this process.
