In the latest versions of the Windows operating system (Vista and Seven), to increase the level of security, an additional check of user rights has been introduced when launching some programs. If such an application is launched not on behalf of the administrator, then it has certain limitations in functionality. To run programs without restrictions, the corresponding options have been added to the Windows graphical shell, which allow you to do this in several ways.

Instructions

Step 1

Log in as an administrator.

Step 2

If the shortcut of the application that you want to run as administrator is on the desktop, then right-click on it. The same can be done with the application line in the main menu on the Start button and with the icon in the Explorer window. In the context menu in all cases there will be a command "Run as administrator", select it.

Step 3

There is another way - it consists in setting the appropriate setting in the properties of the shortcut with which the application is launched. Right-click on the icon of the required application on the desktop and select the "Properties" line in its context menu. On the "Shortcut" tab, click the "Advanced" button, check the "Run as administrator" checkbox and click the OK button. This setting will only take effect when you start the program using this shortcut. The same operation can be done with the application launch line, placed in the OS main menu.

Step 4

The third method is similar to the previous one, with the difference that when you open the properties window, you should go not to the "Shortcut" tab, but to the "Compatibility" tab and in the "Rights level" section check the box "Run this program as administrator".

Step 5

Another method involves launching the desired application using the hotkey combination installed in the OS. To do this, first select the shortcut or other link to the desired program. For example, click once with the mouse cursor on the shortcut on the desktop or in the Explorer window, or enter its name or the name of the executable file in the search query field in the main menu of the system and select the search result line, etc. Then press the key combination ctrl + shift + enter - it is assigned to the command to run the program as administrator.
