Modern photographers are faced with a variety of color formats when dealing with image processing. These are CMYK, Lab, HSB and many others. However, the most common format is RGB. If you have the necessary software, converting color formats is a fairly simple task.
Instructions
Step 1
Open any version of Adobe Photoshop software you have and use menu items such as “File” - “Open”. In the window that opens, select the image you need to convert. Click the "Open" button, after which the image will be loaded for further work.
Step 2
Go to the area of the uppermost panel from the toolbox to the right of the image (these are the default settings of the program). This panel is responsible for displaying the document in miniature, and also carries additional information, including the indication of the parameters of the current color model, as well as the image histogram. Go to the "Info" tab (to get the percentage of applied colors, hover over the area with the image). As you can see in the figure, this image uses the CMYK color model.
Step 3
Go to the menu item “Image” - “Mode”. This item contains a list of all possible modes that Photoshop can work with. The checkbox in this list indicates the current color mode. All you need to do is select the required color model from the list. You can also specify the color depth (after the list of color modes). Select “RGB Color” mode.
Step 4
Pay attention to the title of the window with the image. After color conversion, the name of the current color model changed to "RGB".
Step 5
Go to the previously opened toolbar with color information (upper block to the right of the image). You will also notice that the Info tab now displays information about each of the three colors used to form the color of the point in the image that your cursor is hovering over when you hover over an image on the Info tab.
