Also, programs working with this format allow you to quickly select the desired page and switch between them. But sometimes there is a need to convert this format to others.

Step 1
Such a need may arise if you need to not only read the contents of djvu, but also edit this file. Below we will consider the case if you need to convert this format to pdf.
Step 2
To work, you need WinDjView and a virtual printer. Use Pdf Creator as a virtual printer. Download these two programs and install them on your computer hard drive.
Step 3
Start WinDjView. In the program menu, select "File", then - "Open", and using the "Browse" select the djvu file you want to convert. Now, on the program toolbar, click on the printer icon. A window will open where in the upper right corner there is a line "Printer", next to which there is an arrow. Click on it and select Pdf Creator as the printer.
Step 4
After selecting your printer, in the lower left corner of the window, click Print. After that, the file conversion process bar will appear. Upon completion, a window will appear in which you can enter additional information about the document. Then, in the lower right corner of the window, click "Save". The file will now be saved in pdf format. You can open it using any program for working with this file format.
Step 5
If you need to convert this format to text, then you cannot directly do this. But in some documents that have a text layer, it is easy to take text from the document. Open the desired djvu document. How to do this is described above. Then select "File" from the program menu. Then select "Export Text" from the list of commands that appear. If this feature is not available, then the current document does not have a text layer. In this case, to extract the text, convert the document to pdf format, and then extract it. Most pdf editors provide the ability to extract text from pdf format.
