Among those who actively use the Play Station 2 game console, there will always be gamers who dream of burning their own discs with programs for the console. The main difficulty for those who want to understand is that there is only one file to write (a file with the.elf extension). So how do you burn one file to DVD properly?

Necessary

Blank DVD disc, DVD burner, Nero Burning Rom software

Instructions

Step 1

Before you start burning a disc for Play Station 2, you need to prepare one additional file - system.cnf. The body of this file should contain the following text:

BOOT2 = cdrom0: filename.elf; 1

VER = 1.00

VMODE = PAL

After creating this file, you can start burning the disc. After installing the Nero Burning ROM program, you need to go to the page of this product and register a copy of the program (registration is not free).

Step 2

After launching the program, select the disc type DVD, recording without multisession, and the disc format should be specified as DVD-ROM (UDF / ISO). Go to the "Image" (ISO) tab, change the following values:

- File system: ISO 9660 only;

- File name lenght (ISO): Max. of 31 chars (Level 2);

- Character set (ISO): ASCII.

Pay attention to the second parameter, it states that the maximum length of any file should not exceed 31 characters. If you have such files, Nero will automatically truncate their names. Therefore, it is better to do it personally.

Step 3

Go to the UDF tab. In this tab, you must set the following parameters:

- UDF partition type: Physical partition;

- File system version: UDF 1.02.

The UDF format allows you to write large files that will be read well on all disk readers. After all the add-ins have been made, click the New button. Drop all the necessary files to burn and click "Burn" (Burn). It should be noted that older versions of PS 2 consoles do not read discs with a volume of less than 1 Gb. To solve this problem, you need to upload a large file when creating a record.
