Step 1

Remove the side cover from the computer system unit, which gives access to the motherboard. Make sure that the computer is turned off from the network, and remove from all devices the power cables from the installed power supply - from the hard drive, drive, video card (if connected), floppy and, of course, the motherboard. As a rule, you need to check the correct location of the cables that go from the power supply to all the components of the personal computer.

Step 2

Place the new power supply next to your computer. Connect the power cables to the motherboard. If the board is not very old, then two connectors are connected to it - the main power supply and the additional one. Do not force the connectors in. If the connectors do not fit, then you are trying to shove them in the wrong place. Insert the power connector until the latches on the plastic connector lock are closed.

Step 3

Connect the network cable to the power supply. Power up the graphics card if it needs additional power. Connect a monitor, keyboard, mouse to the motherboard. Place the switch on the power supply (if any) to the on mode (one is drawn) and turn on the computer in the usual way.

Step 4

If the motherboard starts working, the fans spin and boot occurs, and a video signal appears on the monitor screen, which means the motherboard (and with it the processor and RAM) is in working condition. Also, do not forget that the power supply distributes all the power to all parts of the personal computer. If you do not have enough power, the computer may malfunction or not work at all, so calculate the power carefully.
