In order to make a ringtone from a music track of a movie or clip or download music to an MP3 player, you can use special free programs. The extracted tracks can be converted to any audio format compatible with the player and create a collection of your favorite audio files.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install the free Pazera Extractor to extract audio from the Pazera Software website.
Step 2
Click the Add Files button in the upper left corner of the screen to add video files to the program. Select and add the folder or files individually.
Step 3
Click the Output Format button under the Audio Settings section in the lower left corner of the window. Select the extraction format from the dropdown menu.
Step 4
Check the box next to each file you want to convert to the selected format. Click the "Convert" button at the top of the screen.
Step 5
You can also use AoA Audio Extractor to extract music from videos. To do this, download and install the free version of AoA Audio Extractor from the OO Media website. Run the program.
Step 6
Click the Input From button and select Wave Out Mix from the drop-down menu. Selecting this option allows AoA Audio Extractor to record audio directly from your sound card.
Step 7
Click the radio button next to MP3 or WAV under Output Format, depending on the audio format you want.
Step 8
Double click on the video file to start playing in the default player. Click the Start Recording button in AoA Audio Extractor to record the sound coming from the speakers.
Step 9
Click the Stop button to stop recording. Enter a name for the audio file in the pop-up window and click the Save button. To use the free Audacity program, go to the next step.
Step 10
Download the Audacity audio editor from Sourceforge and the Lame for Audacity file from the Plugins and Libraries section.
Step 11
Right click on the video file and select the "Open With - Audacity" option. The audio track appears in the editor.
Step 12
Select File - Export as WAV or Export as MP3 from the program menu, depending on the format you want. If you choose MP3 format, Audacity will ask you to install Lame Encoder. Double-click the Lame for Audacity file in the Downloads folder to install it. Enter a name for the WAV or MP3 file and click the Save button to export the audio from the video to your computer's hard drive.
