Instructions

Step 1

The easiest way to replenish the stock of pictures for the desktop "wallpaper" is to create a separate folder anywhere and place any number of files with images in it. This can be done without leaving the desktop - right-click on it and in the "New" section of the context menu select "Folder". Then give the new object a name - for example, "Wallpaper" - and press Enter. The storage is ready, you can fill it with pictures - you can find them in huge quantities on the Internet. To use any image from this folder as wallpaper, right-click on it and select the line "Set as desktop background".

Step 2

If you want to add to the list of wallpapers in the standard Windows applet, use an existing folder in the system directory of your computer. To get to it, start "Explorer" - double-click on the "Computer" icon on the desktop. Go to the system drive - it is marked with the Windows logo icon - and find the system folder. Most often it is also called Windows. Inside this folder, expand the Web directory, and in it, open the Wallpaper folder. Separate folders for each category of pictures are located here, which are used by the system applet and the program for automatically changing background pictures - a slideshow. Add new pictures to the necessary folders according to their content.

Step 3

To set any of these images as wallpaper or create a list of desktop slideshows, first right-click the background image and select Personalize from the context menu. Then, in the lower left corner, click on the "Desktop Background" link and a categorized table with thumbnails of images will appear on the screen. The controls for the slideshow and the settings for placing the background image on the desktop are also located here.
