Instructions
Step 1
Download Protect Folders and install to your hard drive. You can find it on the website softodrom.ru. The installation of the program is quite simple and will not raise additional questions. It is also worth noting that such software is usually installed in the system directory of the hard disk, that is, in the place where the operating system is located.
Step 2
Run the Protect Folders program by double clicking on the installation file. The main window of the program contains an area for displaying connected folders, and several buttons to control settings. All menus of this software are in English, however, even a novice user will not have any problems.
Step 3
Click on the Lock folders button to specify the directory that needs to be restricted to other users' access rights. Find the folder you are looking for in the tree and select it, then click "OK" to confirm your choice. A window will appear for entering a password, write it down and repeat in the next field for verification. In the Hint field, you can write a special hint that, if necessary, will help you remember your password.
Step 4
Click on the Lock Folder button to complete the password setting procedure. Now, every time you access this folder, you will be prompted to enter a secret word, a password. Please note that setting a password using this program on the folders of external media - hard drive or flash drive - will not be effective. When connected to a computer that does not have Protect Folders installed, you will not be prompted for a password. You can set passwords for any folder at any time using this software, but remember that if you lose your password, it will be impossible to restore access to the folder without prompting.
