Instructions
Step 1
Install the necessary components to configure Widows terminal access, namely: Networking Services, Remote Installation Services, Terminal Server. Also install DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) service. Go to administration, start the DHCP management console, create a new address scope (New Scope).
Step 2
Provide a name for the area as well as its description. You can set any of these parameters, because this information is not intended for the system, but for the administrator. Enter the scope of the IP addresses. Enter the required IP addresses and netmask. Make the area larger than the number of terminals you plan to use. Hotel operating systems, even configured for a fixed address, will still make a request to the dhcp server.
Step 3
In the next window, specify exclusions from the range, they are necessary in the case when a large free range for terminals is required, but it is not possible to select it. Set a deadline for issuing addresses.
Step 4
Specify special parameters that will determine the loading of diskless terminals. Right click on the Scope Options option, select the Configure Options command. Go to the General tab, enter two parameters in the terminal settings: 067 and 066. The Boot Server Host Name (066) parameter defines the address of the computer on which the tftp server is launched, and the Bootfile Name (067) parameter sets the name of the file that is loaded to the terminal, and the download will start from it. Specify the file name thinstation.nbi. The terminal area setup is complete.
Step 5
Activate the area by right-clicking on the area, select activate. Next, the server will provide the information necessary for loading the terminal. Next, configure the tftp server service.
Step 6
Go to "Control Panel" - "Add or Remove Programs", select Windows Components, install the Remote Installation Services component.
Step 7
Go to Start - Run, type Regedit.exe, create the registry key HKLM / System / CurrentControlSet / Services / Tftpd / Parameters / Directory. Then go to "Administration", select the Startup type value for the Trivial FTP Daemon - automatic (Automatic). All basic settings for terminal access have been completed.
