How often do you have to use media to throw off films, programs, print photos, etc. We take a USB flash drive with us to work, to visit - it is very convenient, profitable and fast. But what if the flash drive stopped working or has write protection on it?
Instructions
Step 1
Sometimes it happens that we drop one file on the USB flash drive, after which it simply stops formatting and accepting data.
The message says that write protection or formatting is not available. The file is not deleted, and new ones cannot be uploaded to it.
Step 2
If your computer displays this message, try first just closing all explorer windows and deleting the file via the command line. If this does not help, proceed further.
Step 3
It happens that on the body of the flash drive there is a small knob, turning which, we turn on the write protection. If you find that the adjuster is in this position, return it to the opposite position.
Try writing the data to the flash card again.
Step 4
Try to run the data through an antivirus program, Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 does a good job.
Download antivirus, insert a USB flash drive, agree to the "check" offer.
Look through the scan log, all found dubious objects will be displayed there, as well as suggestions for their "disposal", if there was a virus on the card, the program will automatically quarantine it, you just need to delete it and try to write something to the card again.
Step 5
Very often the problem is solved using utilities like Repair. This usually helps, but they should only be used when the case is particularly difficult. Start Windows and from there first format the USB flash drive, and then try again to transfer files to it.
One of these options should surely help you. If not, just try to open the USB flash drive from another computer.
