To configure Internet connections in various operating systems, many providers already have programs available on the local network that generate connections by adding the necessary settings. Most often this applies to providers using a virtual part connection.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are setting up the Internet over a leased line, make sure that when you connect a network cable, you automatically connect to your local network (you can check this by looking at the icon on the taskbar). If this does not happen, most likely this means that your modem is in a turned off state.
Step 2
Open the device manager, which is located in the "Computer Properties" menu on the tab responsible for configuring the hardware. Find your Lan modem in network adapters and forcibly turn it on.
Step 3
Open the network connections menu in your computer's control panel and select create a new high-speed connection. Please note that the local network connection in the list must be highlighted in blue and have the status "Connected", otherwise just double-click on it with the left mouse button.
Step 4
In the connection settings, do not enter the phone number, specify only the username and password for the connection, which were given to you by the operator. Specify the appropriate access point as well. After that, check the add a shortcut to the desktop checkbox and connect to the internet.
Step 5
If your ISP uses a VPN connection, also make a local network connection and launch the browser on your computer. After that, enter the name of the provider's official website in the address bar, go to it and find instructions on how to set up a VPN connection with the desired parameters.
Step 6
Please note that many of them already have a special utility for downloading, which is available from the local network. It can be used to automatically create a VPN connection on your computer, it sets the necessary settings for each provider, you just need to enter your username and password.
