Instructions

Step 1

First, decide on the drive you want to hide. Let it be the E: / drive. Keep in mind that hidden drives will be displayed by specialized programs such as file managers.

Step 2

Download the utility for configuring the operating system from Microsoft - TweakUI. To do this, launch any browser to view Internet pages: Opera, Internet Explorer or another that you are used to using. Open the search engine page and enter the phrase “download TweakUI” into the search bar. Follow the link and click on the download line.

Step 3

Install the program. The installation is activated by double clicking on the file name. Or just click the "Run" button. Answer the questions of the installation wizard, that is, press the Next button until it appears, and at the end the Finish button. After that, the program will be installed.

Step 4

Launch TweakUI. To start, click the "Start" button, then select the "Programs" menu, "Power Toys for Windows" and left-click on the program icon.

Step 5

The main window of the utility will open, divided into two parts. The column on the left contains the categories of settings, and the column on the right contains the possible options. On the left side, find the "My Computer" section and double-click on it. A submenu will open from the items: "Drives", "Special Folders" and others.

Step 6

Click on the "Drives" sub-item, that is, "drives". In the right part of the program window there will be a list of available logical drives, and all of them will be marked with checkmarks. This is a sign of visibility in the system. Uncheck the drive letter you want to hide. When you are finished selecting the logical drives to hide, click the "Apply" button to apply the changes made. Close the program window.

Step 7

Please note that the changes made take effect immediately after application. Also note that if there are several users on the same computer, then this operation will have to be repeated with the launch of TweakUI. Log in to the system under each of the users and perform the operations from point 4 to point 6.
