For everyone who is forced to share one computer with other users, the problem of protecting their personal information from prying eyes is urgent. Unfortunately, the Windows operating system does not have standard tools for setting passwords on folders, so in order to protect your data from strangers, you should deny access to them.

Step 1
First of all, you need to create several accounts - one for each of the computer users. To do this, click the "Start" menu - "Control Panel" - "User Accounts" - "Manage another account" - "Create an account". After creating accounts, set to your password. Now, when the computer boots up, each user will be logged into the system under their own account.
Step 2
After creating at least one account, select the folder to which you would like to restrict access to other users, and right-click on it, select the "Properties" menu item. In the window that opens, go to the "Access" tab and click on the "Share" button. Select the user you want to block access from the list and right-click and select Delete. Then click the "Share" button for the changes to take effect. If you did everything correctly, a lock will appear on the folder icon, and access to all users except you will be restricted.
