Basic knowledge, skills and abilities of working on a personal computer are simply necessary for a modern person. Most often, this knowledge is based on simple but very important fundamental actions, such as, for example, closing a folder or minimizing a window, and many others. But what if you need to restrict access to the folder with a password? Both are discussed in this article.

Instructions
Step 1
In order to simply close a folder, no matter if it is empty or containing files, you need to perform a few easy steps. Find the top right corner of the folder window. There are three buttons. You will need two extreme ones.
Step 2
Click the button with the cross to close the folder completely. If you need to temporarily collapse and then expand the folder again, then click on the button with a dash. These two operations can also be performed using the keyboard: close - Alt + F4, minimize - Alt + Space, minimize all windows - Win + M.
Step 3
If you want to prohibit sharing a folder with a password, then go to the Start menu, Control Panel and open the Folder Options folder. A new window will appear where you will need to go to the "View" tab. Uncheck the box next to Use Simple File Sharing. Then click "Apply" and "OK".
Step 4
Right-click on the very folder that you want to close with a password. An additional menu list appears. Select "Properties", section "Security", and uncheck "Deny full access". Now the entrance to your folder will be available only for a certain circle of people, or only for yourself, your beloved. The rest of the users will see the inscription "Access to the folder is denied."
