The need for hard copies of emails, while rare, still exists. And although the meaning of the expression "print a letter" has changed a lot since the Turgenev era of messages with wax seals, nevertheless, such a command is present in the list of hot keys of each operating system.

Instructions

Step 1

If you use any of the public mail services, then after opening the letter, look for a link to its printed version. Typically, this link has a printer icon. For example, in the mail.ru service it is located next to the "Delete" link and has no inscription, there is only a small icon with a printer image. And in the gmail.com service, this link is located in the column to the right of the letter and, in addition to the printer icon, has the inscription “Print all”.

Step 2

After you click the link, a new window will open with the text of the message. In this window, specially designed for printing, there will be nothing superfluous - only the subject of the message, the addresses of the sender and the recipient, the date and text of the letter. True, sometimes postal services add their own logo to the printed version.

Step 3

Many free email services are able to automatically launch the standard print dialog of your operating system when opening a printed version in a new window. For example, this is what happens when you print a letter to gmail.com. If your mail service is not able to do this, then you will have to send a letter to print yourself - select the "Print" item in the browser menu or simply press the CTRL + P key combination.

Step 4

In the standard print dialog, you need to select a printer (if there are several of them) and click the "Print" button. Of course, the printer must be turned on and supplied with the required number of sheets of paper.

Step 5

If you use any program installed on your computer (mail client), and not a web service, then preliminary preparation of the letter for sending to print is not required. With the email you want to open, select Print from the menu, or click the printer icon. The shortcut keys CTRL + P are assigned to the send to print command in almost every application, including mail clients - you can use them.
