Users who prefer the quality of the new format movies often use the Sony Playstation 3 game console to watch high-definition video on their computer. It supports most of the well-known video formats, such as DVD, Blu-Ray, AVCHD, SACD, Audio-CD and many others. …
It is necessary
- - PS3 with firmware version 3.40 or higher;
- - home personal computer;
- - a working wired or wireless network to which both devices are connected;
- - PS3 Media Server software.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure the network is working. Connect the set-top box and computer to it. PS3 supports both wired and wireless Wi-Fi connections. If you are not going to watch high definition video, then the latter will be enough for you.
Step 2
Install Java if you haven't already. It is highly recommended to download the JRE plugin from Sun, as this type of software from Microsoft is quite difficult to use.
Step 3
Install the PS3 Media Server program downloaded from the manufacturer's official website. For convenience, install it not in Programm Files, but create a separate folder on your hard drive, calling it, for example, PS3.
Step 4
Open the Notepad text editor. Copy the code from this document into it https://ifolder.ru/26034820. Save the text file in the C: /Users/Your_Login/AppData/Roaming/PMS/PMS.conf directory, replace the existing one if necessary
Step 5
Allow existing firewalls and anti-virus programs full access to the PS3 Media Server to the network.
Step 6
Manually configure the settings you want to match your computer's configuration settings and language preferences. Uncheck the Keep DTS Audio in stream checkbox if your system does not output sound through the receiver. In the Enhanced multicore support setting, also uncheck the box if the computer has only one core. Force networking on interface - select this option only if you have multiple active network cards. Number of cores used for transcoding - here put the number of cores of your computer's processor.
Step 7
On first launch, update the Media Server configuration over the network. From the Shared Folders menu, select the folders that the Playstation 3 will identify for viewing. The system is ready for use.
