Many users complain about the high cost of consumables for printers. But instead of complaining about the greed of the manufacturers of printing devices, it is much wiser to use them rationally.

Step 1
Find out the cost of printing color photographs from electronic media in the nearest large supermarket. It is in them that this service is usually the cheapest. Compare its cost to that of printing one shot on your inkjet printer. Decide where you want to print your color photographs - at home or at one of these services.
Step 2
Install a continuous ink supply system on the inkjet printer. Contrary to the position of manufacturers, a high-quality system does not shorten, but, on the contrary, prolongs the life of the printhead. Use only certified systems. Remember, however, that non-original ink can fade quickly in bright sunlight.
Step 3
If you use a laser printer, instead of buying a new cartridge each time, refill the old one at a certified workshop. Be sure to make sure that the cartridges are vacuumed in it before refueling. After three or four refills, sell the cartridge to the workshop and buy a new one (preferably original). Repeat the cycle.
Step 4
If you have several printers, always use the one that makes the most sense in this case. Print draft documents on a dot-matrix printer, high-quality black and white on a laser, color - on an inkjet. It is much more profitable than using an inkjet printer to print any kind of document.
Step 5
In the settings of printers (where they are located depends on the OS used - Linux or Windows), select draft mode for non-critical printouts. Remember, however, that saving consumables in this case is accompanied by accelerated wear of the printer mechanisms due to the increase in the speed of their movement.
Step 6
The price of the paper sheet itself also takes a part in the cost of the print. But too cheap paper with a low density can not be used in all printers - some of them often "chew" such sheets. In a dot matrix printer, paper that is too thin when printing produces dust that is harmful to the mechanisms. If the printout is supposed to be framed, you can save money by using regular paper instead of glossy paper, since the frame is already equipped with shiny glass in most cases.
