The MS Office package includes a Publisher program specially designed for the preparation of brochures and booklets. However, the MS Word text editor also has commands, thanks to which the document can be designed as a brochure.
Instructions
Step 1
To create a new document in Word 2003, use the New command from the File menu. Then, in the same menu, click Page Setup. In the options window, on the Margins tab, in the Orientation section, select Landscape.
Step 2
In the "Pages" section, expand the "Multiple Pages" list by clicking on the visa arrow at the right border of the field and click on the "Brochure" item. In the Number of Pages Per Booklet list, specify the number of document pages that will be included in the booklet. In the "Fields" section, set the desired value for the inner and outer fields. In Word 2007, all settings for creating brochures are found under the Page Layout tab in the Margins group.
Step 3
To turn a finished document into a brochure, open it in Word using the "Open" command from the "File" menu. Double-click on the ruler at the left edge of the screen and enter all the necessary parameters in the window that opens. If your document contained pictures and diagrams, formatting may have displaced them. Look carefully at the text and correct any errors that appear.
Step 4
Press Ctrl + P to bring up the print dialog box. Click "Properties" and in the "Finishing" tab, check the box next to "Print on both sides". Return to the print dialog, click Options, and under Duplex, specify the order in which the pages will be printed.
Step 5
When all the pages have been printed on one side of the paper, the program prompts you to turn the stack of sheets over. Remove the paper from the output tray, flip it over and place it in the output tray, then press OK.
