It should be noted right away that it is possible to increase the amount of video memory only on integrated video cards. Such video cards can draw additional memory from the computer's RAM. This can be done using the BIOS menu.

Turn on the computer and press the Del button. Instead of the usual boot of the computer, the BIOS menu will open. Find the Video RAM option. Select it and press Enter. After that, select the required amount of memory. Take into account that memory is added from RAM. If you are low on RAM, the overall performance of your video system will not increase in the long run. Also, consider the fact that integrated video cards are quite weak in themselves and you should not expect much performance improvement. Although, if you have a powerful processor, the percentage of increase in the performance of the video system goes up.

The amount of memory for discrete video cards is strictly fixed. Memory cannot be added to discrete graphics cards. But it is possible to increase the speed of the video memory, thereby increasing the performance of the video system.

Download the RivaTuner utility from the Internet. Install this utility, then restart your computer. Run the program. The model of the video card will be written in its main menu. There are two arrows nearby. Click on the one that points to the right. Then select the icon with the name "Low-level system settings". Pay attention to the section titled "Memory frequency". There is a slider next to it. Move it slightly to the right, about 30-50Hz. Then click "Apply" at the bottom of the window.

If playing games, you do not notice any glitches, and the system does not freeze, then the video card with overclocking parameters is working normally. If you wish, you can increase the speed of work a little more. But if the system starts to freeze, the memory speed needs to be reduced.
