Modern video games require a very powerful computer configuration. The most important component for video games is the computer's graphics card. The power of the video card, in turn, depends on the speed of the processor of the video card, the amount and speed of memory. You can increase memory only in integrated video cards. But there is a way to improve the overall video memory speed.
It is necessary
Computer, video card, ATItool program
Instructions
Step 1
If you have an integrated video card, you can increase the amount of memory in the BIOS. Consider the fact that integrated video cards do not have their own memory at all and all resources are taken from RAM. If your computer is low on RAM, adding video memory is useless. This will reduce the overall performance of the system.
Step 2
Turn on your computer and press the Del key continuously. You will find yourself in the BIOS menu. Next, look for the Video RAM line. Select it and press Enter. A line will appear where you can choose how much memory the video card will take from the RAM. Select the desired value. Save the settings to BIOS. After restarting the computer, the volume of the computer's video card will increase.
Step 3
If you have a separate discrete video card installed, the video memory of that card cannot be increased. In discrete video cards memory chips are installed, the amount of memory in such video cards is strictly fixed. But this does not mean that the memory speed in such video cards cannot be increased.
Step 4
Download the universal program for overclocking the memory speed of ATItool video cards. This is the simplest and most beginner-friendly program. There is support for the Russian language.
Step 5
Start the ATItool program. A window with available actions will appear. Select the Overclocking tab from the list. Find the MEMORY CLOCK tab. Please note that the interface may be different depending on the version of the program. If your version of the ATItool program is completely Russified, then most likely, instead of MEMORY CLOCK, “Memory speed” can be written. Move the slider a little to the right. You will see that the memory speed score has increased slightly. Save the settings by pressing the OK key.
Step 6
Now you need white dots, which means that you have exceeded the ability to overclock the speed of the video card. Follow the same procedure, only set the slider to a lower value. If the test is successful, then the memory can operate at that frequency. You can try to overclock even more.
Step 7
In this way, determine the maximum memory frequency of the video card, at which testing in the 3D window will proceed normally, without distortion. When you have determined the maximum operating frequency, save the settings.
