To date, the most accurate devices that allow you to navigate the terrain are GPS navigators. They receive signals from satellites and, thanks to a special program built into them, allow them to determine their location.

Step 1
To connect your navigator to your computer with a USB cable, you must first insert one end of the cable into the connector on your navigator (usually a miniUSB connector).
Step 2
Turn on your navigator.
Step 3
The computer usually detects the new device automatically. If this does not happen, you need to install the software that is usually sold with the navigator.
Step 4
Once your computer has identified your navigator, you can copy files from one device to another.
Step 5
When finished, disconnect the cable.
Step 6
While holding down the Start button, turn off and then turn on your navigator.

These steps describe how to connect navigators similar to the Treelogic line to a computer. The situation is somewhat more complicated with the popular, but somewhat outdated GARMIN navigators - here you have to work with a soldering iron. Such a GPS navigator is connected to the COM port of the computer - a 9-pin (in very old computers - 25-pin) connector - “dad. To connect the navigator to a computer, a three-wire cable is used: one wire is used to transmit data, the second is to receive them, the third wire is “ground.

Strip all wires and contacts to be soldered.
Step 9
Solder the data out wire to pin 2 of the 9-pin COM connector (or pin 3 on the 25-pin).

Solder the data in wire to pin 3 of the 9-pin COM connector (or pin 2 on the 25-pin).
Step 11
The third wire (cable sheath, ground) is soldered to pin 5 of the 9-pin COM connector (or pin 7 on the 25-pin).
Step 12
Connect the unsoldered cable to the computer COM port (female connector).
Step 13
Turn on your navigator.
Step 14
After finishing the communication, turn off the navigator, then disconnect the cable.
