To synchronize the folders of a desktop computer and a laptop (or other desktop PC), you first need to match them. For these purposes, special applications have been developed that greatly facilitate the life of a PC user.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install FileSync on your personal computer to compare 2 folders. It is a free application and can be easily found on the Internet. Start FileSync. On the toolbar, select the menu item "File", and in it "New task". A window will appear. Give the project a name.
Step 2
Save. Then a window should appear on the screen in which you can map the two folders. Click on the Browse button and select the folders you want to compare. After they are added to the project, click on the "Analysis" button.
Step 3
Wait a while for the program to finish analyzing the specified folders. As soon as the analysis is over, a window with all the information you are interested in will appear on the screen. In the same project, you can replace one of the compared folders with another and repeat the process.
Step 4
Download and install Beyond Compare 3 on your personal computer to match 2 folders. It is also a free application and distributed on the Internet. Try to find the most recent version. After the program is installed, restart your personal computer.
Step 5
Then run the program. Select the two folders you want to compare using the Browse button. Then click on the "Start Analysis" button. After the analysis is over, information about the folders will be displayed in the program window. Besides comparison, Beyond Compare 3 also has a file sync feature.
Step 6
To sync folder files, find the Action button on the command bar. A menu will appear. Select "Synchronization". The folder files will be synchronized for some time. This function can be included in the list of basic actions that will be carried out when the program starts. You can also use it to match music, pictures and other types of files.
