Paradoxically, in most cases, when working with a computer, the main difficulties and obstacles arise not because of some serious problems with hardware or programs, but because of, at first glance, completely minor and insignificant failures that take a lot of time for your solutions. For novice users, one of such annoying troubles is often the problem of switching the keyboard from English to Russian.

Instructions

Step 1

In reality, changing the keyboard language is very simple and there are several ways to do it. The fastest and easiest is to use a combination of "hot" keys. By default, in most Windows operating systems, the keyboard language can be switched either by a combination of the left keys “Shift-Alt”, “Shift-Ctrl-Alt”, or by simultaneously pressing the left and right keys “Shift”.

Step 2

In this case, you should press the keys in this way: first press the first key of the combination, then, without releasing it, press the second and third. As a result, the keyboard layout will change from English to Russian and vice versa. To find out which variant of the combination is set by default, try to successively push all the indicated combinations.

Step 3

If for some reason the "hot" keys do not work and the language does not change, you can use the language bar of the main menu of the operating system. To do this, look at the main menu bar in the lower right corner of the screen, where the clock and program icons are displayed. There should be a small square with the Latin letters “RU” (Russian) or “EN” (English).

Step 4

To switch the language using this mini-panel, move the mouse cursor over it and press its left button. A small context menu will open displaying the available languages as strings. By default, there are always two of them: Russian and English. Select the language you need and click on the appropriate line. The layout will switch, and the corresponding icon will be displayed on the panel.

Step 5

In some cases, the language bar button may be disabled and then it is not visible on the screen. To restore the display of languages, move the cursor over the main menu bar (usually it looks like a narrow gray bar at the very bottom of the screen) and press the right mouse button. A context menu will open, the top line of which will be the line "Toolbars". Hover over it and you will see another drop-down menu. Find the line "Language bar" in it and put a check mark in front of it. A button will appear on the toolbar, reflecting the installed languages. Then proceed as described in points 3 and 4.
