An ordinary home computer is not only an opportunity to go online, play games, write an essay or letter. It is also a heating device - most of the components are noticeably heated, which means they have to be cooled. The most common solution is cooling with a fan or cooler, as it is also called. And the more powerful the computer, the more heating components and noisy fans in it. Moreover, for a significant part of the time, all fans work at full capacity, emitting an annoying hum. But there is a solution to this problem.

Instructions

Step 1

Some of the components are programmable. To change the rotational speed of the cooler, download the SpeedFan program. The latest available version to date is 4.44. The best source is a trusted site with software or the official developer page. Also keep in mind that not all fans in the system support changing the rotational speed, for example, the power supply can make a lot of noise.

Step 2

Install the downloaded program. To do this, double-click the file with the installer and answer the questions of the installation wizard, while it is enough to click the "Next" or "Next" button, depending on the version that you have. Find the SpeedFan icon on your desktop, it looks like a stylized fan. Start by double clicking.

Step 3

After a minute or less, the program window will open. Close the tip that appears in the foreground (the inscription "Close / Close"). Translate the interface into Russian, if necessary. To do this, click the "Configure" button in the upper right part of the window. Click on the "Options" tab and in front of the "Language" label select "Russian" from the drop-down list, then "OK" at the bottom of the window.

Step 4

In the lower half of the program, you will see three lines with the headings "Speed" and values from 0 to 100. Use the small arrows to the right of the numbers to indicate your fan speed in percent, and in the upper part of the window, where the results of monitoring the current speeds will be displayed, look for changes … And of course, be guided by ear, 60 percent of full RPM is already quite quiet, but still enough for good cooling.

Step 5

If there is no desire to manually select values, press the "Auto fan speed" button, it is located under the "Configuration" button. The program will automatically set the optimal operating parameters. Click the Minimize button and SpeedFan will disappear from view, but will not stop working. Run it every time you turn on the computer, and the noise will cease to bother you. The main thing is not to overdo it with decreasing the rotational speed of the fans, it can be dangerous for your computer.
