It is not difficult to independently connect two laptops via a local network in a home or office environment. Such a connection will make it possible to quickly exchange information between computers.
It is necessary
You will need a KKPV-5 cable of the fifth category, twisted pair, 2 RJ-45 connectors, crimping pliers for 8P8C (RJ-45) connectors, 2 Ethernet network controllers 100 Mbit, a sharp knife
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure Ethernet controllers are installed on both laptops. Their connectors are similar to telephone connectors.
Step 2
Make a network cable. To do this, take the connectors, cable and pliers. Using a knife and pliers, remove the surface insulation from the cable at a distance of 2 centimeters on each side.
Step 3
Next, distribute the veins in pairs and separate them in different directions. Now line up the veins in the following order from left to right: white-orange, orange, white-green, blue, white-blue, green, white-brown, brown.
Step 4
At the other end, line up another sequence, also from left to right: white-green, green, white-orange, blue, white-blue, orange, white-brown, brown.
Step 5
Trim the edges of the veins with pliers or scissors so that the length of the protruding veins is within 12-15 mm. After that, carefully insert the row of cores all the way into the connector, and do not allow the cores to get tangled or come into contact with each other.
Step 6
Install the connector with the inserted cable into the pliers, then clamp them all the way. This will fix the cable. Sharpen the wires in the same way, insert them into the connector and clamp them with pliers on the other side of the cable.
Step 7
Connect the laptops with the new fabricated cable, and if done correctly, the "link" indicator will light up. If these indicators are off or only on one side, then check the cable, probably a mistake was made when crimping it.
Step 8
Install drivers for Ethernet controllers on both laptops and make sure network adapters are enabled.
Step 9
Set up your network connection. To do this, go to the "Control Panel", then open "Network Connections" and find among the available connections "Local Area Connection". Right-click on the icon for this connection and select Properties from the context menu. Highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)" in the window and click on "Properties". Set the IP address for the laptop. Now do the same on the second laptop, just change the last digit of the IP address.
